ISET THE MOTHER

Backstory

Keywords:

The Goddess, the Mother, the Transcendent One, Iset the Transcendent, the Fallen Goddess. Indifferent, dominant, transcendent, fearsome, compassionate (towards children and Neo-humans), incomprehensible, majesty.

Personality:

A lot can be said about her, yet all attempts would fall short of describing her majestic beauty, mystery, and capabilities. She is charismatic and commanding. One cannot stand before her without feeling her penetrating gaze and terrifying power. She is wise beyond comprehension and holds many secrets of quantum mechanics, making her the ultimate clairvoyant. Not mystically, of course, she can calculate billions of possibilities and project the most probable outcomes. She is also the grandest wielder of the enigmatic energy "Ais." She is neutral to most topics and seemingly does not care about much except the fate of humans and Neo-humans, Ais energy, development of new technologies, or engineering of new Neo-humans. For some reason, she has an extra interest in the Infested phenomena.

Iset is like a fairy tale to humans. The corporations largely manipulated her story and history to hide their shameful defeat during the Interhuman War, and rebel journalists had a limited impact due to modern humanity's lack of interest, despite best efforts to reveal the truth. People are now primarily salary-slaves for corporations and prefer watching funny cat videos, living virtual celebrity lives in metaverses, or are too busy with daily life concerns, so there is almost no time and attention bandwidth left to focus on what really happened in the past. Therefore, Iset is part of pop culture and no different than mythological characters like the Pegasus or the long forgotten, now-merchandized gods like Mars.

For those who can reach her, come near or talk to her, however, Iset is difficult to describe. You usually feel conflicting and uncomfortable emotions. Fear and joy, terror and peace, glory and darkness. She is like a black hole that you would feel awe at when you look from afar and feel compelled to go near, only to end up with an absolute urge to rush away if you get too close.

As Seliné Vivarri puts it, there are three rules you need to follow to remain on the safe side. Do not waste her time. Do not waste your time. According to Nightingale, the third and most important rule is: "Do not step on her hair cords!"

Loves:

"If we can apply the concept of love to Iset, we can say she loves nature, children, Neo-humans (of course she is particularly fond of the ones she created herself), arts and music (especially opera), exploring space, and learning. Yes, she still spends a considerable amount of time pondering and unraveling the secrets of the universe.

She sympathizes with the Gaze of Iset Neo-human alliance, even though she did not establish it, as well as Crimson Angels and Phantom Crows Neo-human alliances. It is unclear what she thinks about other alliances such as the Prodigies or Chaos Symphony. She is also quite welcoming to the Infested (not the Infestation itself, but conscious Infested organisms), but nobody knows why.

The Goddess is a difficult character to predict, especially in her reactions to humans. She can be unexpectedly forgiving towards them when you would least expect it, or surprisingly cruel on other occasions. Almost certainly, however, she is compassionate toward human children and usually friendly with scientists, artists, historians, archeologists, linguists, engineers, programmers, developers, and the like. In short, anyone she deems worthy, especially those who contribute to the progress of human civilization."

Hates:

Prejudice and ignorance. One might assume she hates the corporations, but her reactions are usually rather calculated and simply too intelligent to be considered "hateful." Her response to threats against everything she considers valuable is typically aggressive. Still, it is almost always impossible to call her angry or hateful due to her incredibly calm, wise, measured, and farsighted behavior.

"We found a way. A way to reach infinity. A path to ultimate redemption.
A new - humanity!

Ladies and gentlemen! We are proud to finally reveal the grandest technological advancement in the history of our species!

Hail the first Angel: Iset the Transcendent One!"

A hologram of Iset appears on the scene. Thousands of drones are competing for a better angle to livestream the Transcendent One's appearance.

"Iset, please come here, darling. Here. The entire world is now watching you. Would you like to say something?"

Iset takes a step forward and looks around for a second. With a stern look and a confident attitude, she starts to float elegantly and finally speaks:

"Behold, old ones... I have arrived."

- From Angelicon's Project Transcendence announcement event in 2507.

She is the first Neo-human ever created. She witnessed how the relations between the Neo-humans and old humans became corrupted, and she couldn't prevent it. She then observed the beginning of the Interhuman War, the rebellion of the long-abused and harassed Neo-humans, and spent weeks trying to find a way to prevent the impending destruction. Unable to find a peaceful solution, she decided to join the rebellion. With her approval, her children, the third-gen Neo-humans, also known as the Angels, entered the war. They quickly annihilated the corporation forces and were perfectly ready to dominate Earth. However, Iset decided to withdraw for enigmatic reasons and abruptly left her allies and children, going dark. Without their leader, most Neo-humans chose to leave Earth. Some remained and tried to continue to keep the resistance alive, but all ultimately failed. Unable to escape Earth, some were captured by the corporations, only to suffer a cruel end.

Iset had decided to withdraw to a cold, remote planet to hibernate for two centuries. The reasons behind her mysterious retreat are still unknown. Now, 200 years after the Interhuman War abruptly ended, she is returning. Nobody knows why.

“Who gave you the permission to die?”

Iset the Mother also referred to as the Goddess, is a character beyond comprehension. When she joins a battle, the very definition of the conflict happening on the ground instantly changes. It’s not a battle anymore; it’s pure slaughter.

The Mother is here to observe you mostly and rarely guide you. In the single-player campaign, she will accompany you and your party. In the multiplayer mode, having her by your side will be highly beneficial, as one can imagine.

Please note she is usually not a directly playable hero. – Usually –

The Mother, the Goddess, in all her glory and majesty. She appeared as such after her 200 years long sleep. She woke up like this.

The First Angel

Legendary Tier

Iset the Transcendent. The very first Neo-human ever engineered. Billions watched the rise of the new human race in awe and fear during her debut by Angelicon corporation. On that date, this is how she looked.

The Goddess

Angelic Tier

There was a time when she spared them, giving them a chance to evolve. They did not listen, and instead, they called a Goddess. It was not what had been asked of them but what had been requested. So they shall have their Goddess. So be it.

The Dark Goddess

Arch-Angelic Tier

Their pride is infinite, yet they are not even needed. Time shall erase them, and the universe will not even notice. A tragedy!
